Copy of email sent to students regarding online learning.

Ok let's let the fun begin.
There will be a lot of information associated with this email, but do not get overwhelmed. If you have questions regarding what I'm about to discuss I'm always available via email as well as through the Google Classroom I've created.
The classroom page will be used for both Math and Science moving forward. I have no idea how long this shutdown will last, but if this is going to be our new norm, let's make the best of it together.

So, first things first, how to access the Google Classroom:

Step 1: Go to google and sign in using your WHSD credentials.
(This is the only way to do this. If you don't have your sign on and password used in school you won't be able to sign on. If you need this information email me separately).

Step 2: Use drop down menu to open Google Classroom. Click the link.

Step 3: Enter the Class Code: 7b75f2w (a few lucky students will already be signed on. I used their credentials to walk through the proper steps for set up. If that's the case, those lucky few will go right to my classroom page when they click on classroom).

Step 4: Get accustomed to using the Classroom. The Stream tab will be where certain announcements will be made by me and where if asked, you will comment, ask questions, and/or write answers to certain questions based on a particular assignment. I'll be checking it multiple times throughout the day. So if you use this means of asking questions (rather than email) I will eventually get to you. The Classwork tab is where I will place assignments for the week. Math assignments will be placed on here as well, even though you will still be completing them on the Pearson Envision site through ClassLink.

I will try to be as specific as possible when listing assignments on Google Classroom. That being said, this is not an exact science, so if you have questions, feel free to contact me.
Again, there will be problems that arise, but we will get through this the best we can together.
I'm thinking of doing a Zoom meeting/conference early next week with any of you that would be interested. If you are not familiar with Zoom, feel free to look over the site (maybe ask your parents if you can download the app). If/when I schedule the conference, I will send out an email with the code(s) you will need to join. I will have "office hours" every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. This would be when any Zoom conferences are scheduled and when I will be able to answer questions directly through either email or Google Classroom. That being said, I'm available whenever you need me. Just email or write something on Google Classroom. I will get back to you. I'm sure there are a million things I've forgotten to mention, but at this point we have time to address them when they come up. Hope you all are well! Talk soon.
