ELA
In second grade, we have implemented a variety of programs to help students grow in the areas of reading and writing. Our primary ELA curriculum is Benchmark Literacy, but we also incorporate word study and phonics resources including: 95% Group, LETRS (Language Essentials for Teaching Reading and Spelling), Heggerty, and ECRI (Enhanced Core Reading Instruction).
Benchmark Literacy provides eBooks for students along with additional online resources. Students can log in using their district credentials at the following link:
Click LOG IN WITH GOOGLE, and enter your district email address (your user ID @whsd.org) and password to access this resource via CLEVER. (At this time, it cannot be accessed in the ClassLink menu.)
Education Galaxy is a great resource for ELA practice, specifically targeting grade level skills. You MUST access it via ClassLink on the district website (www.whsd.org) under the STUDENTS tab.
