Welcome to 2nd Grade! This year is going to be like no other!

My name is Janice Hill and I am a first grade teacher. I was born and raised in Johnstown, PA. My husband, Dan, and I both graduated from Westmont in 1996. Our two children now attend Westmont. James (J.D.) is in 12th grade and Josie is in 10th grade.

I graduated from West Virginia University and Chatham University. I have a degree in Elementary Education K-6 and I have my Master's Degree in Education. I also have a Bachelor's Degree in History and Business Administration. I absolutely love teaching. I am always trying to encourage students to be proud of their accomplishments and confident in their abilities. Kindness and caring is an important part of my classroom. I want kids to feel valued and respected by their peers. My motto in the classroom is to try your best in whatever you do!

When I am not in school, I love to travel with my husband. I am very adventurous. I also love watching my children participate in football, wrestling, ballet, and golf. You can also find me spending time with the Girl Scouts, helping with the WH wrestling boosters, going out to eat, cooking, and hiking in my free time.

My students know me for my love of cats (I have four- Sophie, Fiona, and Francy)!
