From the desk of Dr. Hobbs...
Dear Westy Families,
My name is Kellie Hobbs, and I am an instructional coach at the K-6 elementary building. For the past 18 years, I have had the pleasure of working at Westmont Hilltop Elementary School. Meeting the needs of diverse learners is one of my top priorities!
I attended Penn State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I have a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Clarion University and a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Administration from Point Park University. I am currently pursuing a second Master of Education in Special Education.
In an effort to enhance my ability to meet student needs, I completed additional coursework to become a certified Reading Specialist and also earned a Gifted Endorsement and Principal Certification. Pursuing additional degrees and certifications has enabled me to enhance my skill set and deepen my contribution to the district. I hope to continue learning and sharing with students and teachers with the intent to improve our practice, increase our quality of education and effectiveness, and improve achievement for all students.
My previous teaching experiences include 14 years in general education, 1 year in gifted education, and 3 years as an instructional coach and interventionist.
When I am not in school, I enjoy traveling, biking, running, and spending time with my 1-year old English Setter, Fin.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions this year. I am happy to help!
