Westmont Hilltop School District

Hi everyone! I'm Ms. Deist 😊
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year!
First, I want to say Welcome to our new Kindergarten students and any other new students to our district, I am so happy to have you with us! I also want to say welcome back to all of our returning students. I am going to be out on maternity leave at the beginning of this school year, but will be returning in March. I look forward to seeing you all again soon! In the meantime, Mr. Brocious, is going to be filling in for me as the school counselor during my leave. Please reach out to him if you have any questions or concerns. His information can be found on the "Introducing Mr. Brocious page."
For those of you that do not know me, I am Ms. Deist, the elementary school counselor. This will be my fifth year at Westmont Hilltop Elementary School. Prior to working for Westmont Hilltop, I was a school counselor for Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Maryland for 4 years. I attended Chatham University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned a Master of Education degree in School Counseling.
My goal is to support all students in the areas of academics, career and social/emotional. I provide classroom guidance lessons to all students. Small support groups and individual counseling are available to all students as well. I am a part of many clubs and organizations within the school that helps support students including MTSS, PBIS, attendance team and SAP. I am also the 504 coordinator for the elementary school. If you have concerns, please fill out the SAP referral that can be found under parents>parent resources> SAP referral.
Parents/Guardians, please sign your student up for the Google Classroom associated with their grade level if you have not already done so last year. This classroom will provide information, activities, lessons and resources for students. Please sign up using your child's school e-mail and password.
I look forward to working with your students as soon as I get back from leave and will do the best that I can to support them in any way possible. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
