Westmont Hilltop School District

Hi everyone! I'm Ms. Deist 😊
Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!
First, I want to say Welcome to our new Kindergarten students and any other new students to our district, I am so happy to have you with us! I also want to say welcome back to all of our returning students and I have missed you all very much! I know that this year has brought about many changes and many big feelings. Please reach out to me for support, I want to help with our back to school transition in any way that I can.
For those of you that do not know me, I am Ms. Deist, the elementary school counselor. This will be my fifth year at Westmont Hilltop Elementary School. Prior to working for Westmont Hilltop, I was a school counselor for Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Maryland for 4 years. I attended Chatham University and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Indiana University of Pennsylvania and earned a Master of Education degree in School Counseling.
My goal is to support all students in the areas of academics, career and social/emotional. I provide classroom guidance lessons to all students. Small support groups and individual counseling are available to all students as well. I am a part of many clubs and organizations within the school that helps support students including MTSS, PBIS, attendance team and SAP. I am also the 504 coordinator for the elementary school. If you have concerns, please fill out the SAP referral that can be found under parents>parent resources> SAP referral.
As we navigate through this virtual world, please sign your student up for the Google Classroom associated with their grade level. This classroom will provide information, activities, lessons and resources for students. Please sign up using your child's school e-mail and password.
I look forward to working with your students and will do the best that I can to support them in any way possible. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
