Title IX

What is Title IX?
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (“Title IX”) prohibits discrimination based on sex in any federally funded education program or activity. Sex discrimination includes sex-based harassment, discrimination based on sex, and retaliation related to complaints of sex discrimination. Sex-based harassment is unwelcome conduct that includes sexual harassment, including but not limited to sexual assault, other forms of sexual violence and other sexual misconduct, and gender-based harassment. This applies to academic, educational, athletic, and residential programs.
Inquiries about Title IX or to report information about conduct that may constitute sex discrimination or make a complaint of sex discrimination under Title IX, may be referred to the Westmont Hilltop School District's Title IX Coordinator, the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights, or both.
