Small Group Counseling
Small group counseling is available to all students. Small support groups consist of 6-8 students and occur weekly in the school setting for 6-10 weeks. Small groups are appropriate for students that are experiencing a challenge in their lives that is affecting the school day. These groups help show to show students that they are not alone in the challenges they may face. Small groups are also an opportunity for students to self-reflect and receive education, strategies and tips on the topic of focus.
Students can be referred for small groups through universal screeners or by parent, teacher or student request. Small groups are voluntary services and require signed parent permission. If a student has been referred for a small group, a permission form will be sent home prior to a student beginning a group. Small groups could cover the following topics:
