"As the World Falls Down"

"As the World Falls Down" tells the story of a young couple in Pompeii who has just fallen for each other, but disaster looms on the horizon.  As they begin to connect, the ground shakes and they realize the volcano, Vesuvius is about to erupt.  As they race to find each other in the chaos, it becomes imminent that these may be their last moments together.

DETAILED SHOW DESCRIPTION:

MOVEMENT 1 -  The first movement tells the story of the last great days of Pompeii.  A love theme is heard at the beginning titled "I Lava You", which represents the couple, as well as the overall theme of hope.

MOVEMENT 2 - The couple meets for the first time and there is a connection instantly.  Music includes a more expanded version of "I Lava You" mixed with Frank Sinatra's "The World We Knew."

MOVEMENT 3 - Disaster ensues as Vesuvius erupts.  The couple is torn apart in the chaos and are left looking for each other.  Music from this movement will be a mix of three symphonic pieces:  Vesuvius by Frank Ticheli, Dies Irae (Verdi Requiem), and Danse Bacchanale by Saint-Saens.

MOVEMENT 4 - At long last the couple is reunited as the world crumbles around them.  As they embrace, they await what could be their final moments together.
Music:  "As the World Caves In"

Zodiac Show and Music Descriptions

Our "Zodiac" show is a look into 3 specific constellations of the Zodiac including Gemini, Cancer, and Scorpio.  The music we perform corresponds in style to the characteristics of that particular Zodiac sign. Much of the show has recorded narration that will accompany parts of the music talking about these comparisons.  Here is a breakdown of all 5 music selections in our show:

Movement 1 - Prelude.  An introduction of all the 12 constellations that made up the Zodiac played over narration.  Music includes "Sky Full of Stars" by Coldplay and "Satellite Call" By Sara Bareilles.

Movement 2 - Gemini.  The movement explains the characteristics of Geminis embracing the idea of twins and doppelgangers.  Most of the band members will have a partner matched with them for this movement. Geminis can be very flexible and clever and are rarely boring.  The music is very uptempo to match this and even a little disjointed at times.  The music is Mic Drop by BTS.

Movement 3 - Cancer.  This movement is the ballad (or slow movement) of our show.  Cancers by design are often very motherly and caring.  They are also the only Zodiac ruled by a moon and not a planet.  We start with a brief introduction of the song "Mother and Child Reunion" by Paul Simon and go into "Talking to the Moon" by Bruno Mars.

Movement 4 - Scorpio.  Scorpios have many wonderful qualities but some of their negative ones include jealousy and having a short temper.  This movement is designed as a competitive battle between two girls fighting over a boy for affection.  Their jealousy is shown through both dance and music.  One girl's motives are represented by an electric violin.  The other by an electric cello.  The music is an arrangement of "Paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones, playing the style of the arrangement from the Netflix show "Wednesday".

Movement 5 - Postlude.  To end the show, we tie all the themes together and play a much more fleshed out version of "Sky Full of Stars".

Music Selections (Real recordings).  The music arrangements from the show are inspired by the the following:
